Dr Shrikant Baldi assumes charge of Himachal Chief Secretary

Dr Baldi has a veried experience as an administrator and has served the state on various important posts during his service period of 34 years

Baldi also said that the state government was resolute to provide transparent governance and he would contribute his best to fulfil the priorities, policies and programmes of the government for development of the state and welfare of the general public.

1985 batch IAS officer Dr Shrikant Baldi on Monday assumed the charge of new Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh.

Dr Baldi has a veried experience as an administrator and has served the state on various important posts during his service period of 34 years. He has deep knowledge of the working of various departments, especially financial matters.

Dr. Baldi has served as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation, Principal Secretary, Education, Rural Development, Secretary Power, MD HRTC, Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Solan, Director Information & Public Relations and Primary Education, MD HPMC and held various other key posts.

“The first priority was to make the Global Investor’s Meet a big success which is being held at Dharamshala in the month of November.Despite slumpt in the market Himachal government has decided to go ahead with this meet as it firmly believes that bringing investment was must for generating revenue to the state exchequer and ample employment opportunities to the youth of the state” Dr Shrikant Baldi said.

Baldi also said that the state government was resolute to provide transparent governance and he would contribute his best to fulfil the priorities, policies and programmes of the government for development of the state and welfare of the general public.

He has also written various papers and reports like employment generation and poverty alleviation through development of off-season vegetable and floriculture in Solan district, natural disaster management and control in India, Emergency relief Manual of Himachal Pradesh, empowering financial management in HRTC
