Idol theft: Himachal announces cash reward
The Himachal Pradesh Government has announced a reward of 10 lac rupees to anyone giving reliable information leading to recovery of precious idols of Raghunath temple in Kullu. The statues were stolen by unknown persons on the intervening night of December 8 and 9.
Sanjay Kundu, Additional Director General of Police said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to expedite the investigation in the crime.
Kundu also said that regarding theft of the idols, the Immigration Department of India, CISF, RPF, SSB and Interpol Agency have been informed to increase vigilance on Indo-Nepal border, airports and railway stations, so that the culprits are not able to leave the country.
