India prepares to counter ISIS threat !
Indian Government is putting up a robust system to counter radicalisation of youth in the country. Involvement of community elders, monitoring of radical social media platforms and real-time sharing of information are a few steps Centre plans to take to prevent youths from getting attracted to radical ideologies.
During a high-level meeting chaired by Union Home Secretary L C Goyal in New Delhi today, a strategy was formalised to neutralise extremist ideologies such as that of ISIS. Counter-radicalisation efforts would include counselling of youths,and convincing community elders to persuade the younger generation to not get influenced by any extremist ideology.
The day long meeting was attended by DGPs and Home Secretaries or their representatives of a dozen states including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Assam, Punjab, and West Bengal.
