Jai Ram Thakur hails NDRF grant to Himachal

The State gets a grant of Rs 64.49 under National Disaster Response Fund

The state  suffered huge public and private property  losses during current monsoon season .The state government had released Rs 15 crore immediately for undertaking relief and restoration works . He has also urged the union government to send a central team at the earliest to take stock of the situation .

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has hailed  the Union Government’s decision to release a grant of  Rs. 64.49 crore  under National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) .The funds will be used during the Winter season to carry out restoration and other relief measures .

“This was the second time that the state government had received funds for winter losses after a gap of four years. Earlier state government had received  similar grant in  2014″ the Chief Minister said.

Jai Ram Thakur informed  that the  union government had provided  helicopter services besides other assistance when there was a dire need to airlift the people stranded in Lahaul and Spiti following the sudden snowfall.

” The state government had also received a grant of  Rs. 312 crore for the losses occured during the  2018  monsoon under NDRF.This shows the concern of Narendra Modi  government about the well being and welfare of the people of the state” Thakur said.
