Kashmir valley cut off from after heavy snowfall

snowfall-kashmirThe 300-km long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only road link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country, was closed for traffic today due to snowfall. Inspector General of Police (Traffic) told our correspondent this morning that the highway is closed from both sides due to fresh snowfall at Patnitop and heavy rain in Ramban area.

As the western disturbances have hit the entire northern region, the Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing fresh heavy rain and snowfall at many places since yesterday, with higher reaches of Pir Panjal and other Himalayan Ranges experiencing heavy snowfall.
