Narrow escape for campers in Barot as huge landslide blocks Uhal river

Locals and campers had a narrow escape when a huge landslide occurred at Dharangan village in Barot valley of Mandi district in North Indian state of  Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday afternoon .

The slip was huge and even uprooted tall trees .The debris fell on the bank of the mighty Uhal river which is famous for camping.The camping site Haldehar is located close to the landslide.

Locals were seen shouting for warning people who were standing near the river when the landslide occurred.

Eyewitnesses said the landslide first occurred  on Tuesday and then on Wednesday .Local residents fear the landslide material including uprooted trees have blocked  the course of Uhal river.

No loss of life has been reported in this incident .
