Three pilgrims killed in Himachal accident

Shimla: Three pilgrims from Punjab were killed and one was seriously injured Sunday when the car in which there were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a ditch in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district, police said.

"Three people were killed when their car fell into a 60-foot ditch near the Naina Devi shrine around 2 p.m. Sunday. One was seriously injured in the accident. The injured has been admitted to the district hospital at Bilaspur town," Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Sharma told IANS.

He said all the victims, in the age group of 30-35, belonged to Moga town and were coming from the temple after paying obeisance there.

The cause of the accident is yet be ascertained, he added.

The hilltop shrine of Naina Devi, located on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, is some 150 km from state capital.
