State Secretary of Communist Party of India Marxist Rakesh Singha on Wednesday condemned the State Government and Himachal University authorities for siding with the ABVP activists and framing false cases against SFI activists .
" The police is forced to implicate students with various non-bail able offences including charging them for attempts to murder under section 307 of IPC. The ABVP students on the other hand are terrorising the common students in the campus and moving scot-free in all colleges and the University campus," Singha said.
Rakesh Singha alleged that Sunil Gupta, Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University in the presence of Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal had recently admitted that he is an ABVP activist . He alleged that the person who is an ABVP activist cannot act in an impartial manner.
"University authorities are bent upon turning the campus into a RSS repository and trying to get rid of Wilson Committee recommendations. Various teaching and ministerial posts are being filled up by appointing former ABVP activists ," Singha said.
The CPI-M, DYFI and SFI have also demanded action against the university security officer who had unnecessarily fired in the air and tried to create a fear psychosis amongst the peaceful students’ community on Tuesday evening.
