Himachal Pradesh State Information and Technology (IT) department is making concerted efforts to improve the citizen service delivery mechanism by introducing information and communication tools so that efficiency could be brought in the functioning of all the departments in the State. He said that the IT department is exploring the possibilities of replicating the successful e-Governance projects being implemented in other States.
"A team of senior officers from Forest and IT Departments visited Bhopal on 24th & 25th September, 2009 to study the projects being implemented in Madhya Pradesh Forest Department. The projects visited by the team were Fire Alert Messaging System, Forest Offence Management System, Forest Dwellers Survey System, Forest Financial Management System, Wild Life Management System, Forest Employee Database Verification, Forest Diary Management System, Employee Work Repository and Assessment System, MP Bio-diversity Characterisation Map and Forest Mail Services ," B.K.Aggarwal, Principal Secretary, Information Technology said.
Mr Aggarwal said that the team observed that these systems were beneficial for our state too and could be replicated in the state. He said that the team would submit its report to this effect soon. He said that IT department has planned more such visits from other departments to other states where such projects are being implemented. He said that one such visit of a team of Food and Civil Supplies Department has already been planned to Karnataka to study their computerized Public Distribution System (PDS).
