Himachal Pradesh Cabinet in its meeting held here on Thursday granted permission for filling up of 637 vacancies of various categories in different departments of the State Government. It includes 259 vacancies in Revenue Department, 369 vacancies in Home Department and 15 vacancies in Forest Department.
Revenue vacancies shall include recruitment of 20 stenographers, 75 clerks on contract basis while 164 vacancies of the class IV shall be filled up from amongst the surplus pool created by the State Government to man the offices of Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioner and speed up disposal of all pending revenue cases in respective offices. 335 vacancies in Home Department includes recruitment of 50 lady constables and 34 Sub Inspectors to strengthen the law and order maintenance agencies.
15 posts of Forest Range Officers shall be filled up on contract basis for better forest management and protection of the forest wealth. Permission has also been granted to fill-up 28 vacancies of teaching and non-teaching categories in the newly upgraded Government High and Senior Secondary Schools.
