Minor raped in bus in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: A 16-year-old girl was raped by the driver and cleaner of the bus in which she was travelling from Morena to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, police said Monday. Both the accused have been arrested.

The girl, a resident of Gote Nagar in Morena district, had boarded a private bus from Morena to Gwalior to meet her uncle, police said.

"After the bus reached Gwalior at around 10.30 p.m. Saturday and all the passengers got down, the driver Ramawatar Singh Sikarwar and cleaner Ravindra Singh Gurjar warned the girl not to go outside as it was risky out in the dark alone. The girl believed them and remained inside the bus where the two raped her," Bhagwat Singh Chauhan, Additional SP Gwalior told IANS.

The girl reported the matter to the police Sunday morning. Policemen deployed at check posts were alerted and both the accused were arrested.

Ranchi/ New Delhi: Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, who is at the centre of a Rs.2,500-crore money laundering scam, was Monday arrested by the state vigilance bureau for allegedly having assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, a vigilance official said.
