Pakistan forces again resorted to shelling and firing in Poonch district along the Line of Control on Sunday. Defence sources said that the forces from across the Line of Control started unprovoked firing targeting Indian positions and civilian areas in Shahpur sector of Poonch around 10 am this morning.
The troops guarding the borderline retaliated the firing and gave a befitting reply. Heavy exchange of gunfire lasted about three hours.
Besides small and automatic arms, heavy mortars are also used in the cross border shelling. However, there is no report of any causality or injury to Indian side. On Friday a civilian was killed in Pakistani shelling in the same Poonch district.
