PU to start seven new PG degree courses

Panjab_University_logoPanjab University (PU), Chandigarh would start seven new Post-Graduate programmes from the new academic year 2014-15. New courses include one in Special Education and the others in Engineering.

M.Ed. Special Education (Learning Disability), ME (Food Technology), ME (Chemical with specialization in Environment Engineering), ME (Mechanical Engineering), ME (Electrical Engineering), and ME (Material Sciences and Engineering) and M Tech (Instrumentation) will also be started this year. The courses are being started at the department of Education, University Institute of Engineering and Technology and Dr SS Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology.

One year semester system PG course, M.Ed. Special Education (Learning Disability) would be started at the Department of Education and it would have 15 seats.

M.Tech Instrumentation would have 13 seats, while the ME (Food Technology) and M.E. (Chemical with specialization in Environment Engineering) would offer 10 seats with two additional seats each for NRI. ME Mechanical Engineering, ME Electrical Engineering (Power System) and ME Material Sciences and Engineering courses will each have a total of 22 seats, with 2 out of these reserved for NRI students. All these courses would be two year post graduate courses with semester system.

New Course Details:

M Ed Special Education (Learning Disability), 15 seats, 1 year

M E (Food Technology) 10 seats, 2 years

M E (Chemical with specialization in Environmenal Engg), 10 seats, 2 years

M E (Mechanical Engineering) 20 seats + 2 NRI, 2 years

M E Electrical Engineering (Power System) — 20 seats + 2 NRI, 2 years

M Tech (Material Sciences & Engg) 20 seats + 2 NRI, 2 years

M Tech (Instrumentation) 10 + 3 SC/ST + 2 NRI- 2 years
