Vasundhara calls Amit Shah to clarify on Modi issue
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday talked to BJP President Amit Shah amid the controversy over helping tainted former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi in securing British travel documents. It is believed that during the telephonic conversation Ms. Raje explained her position saying that she has done nothing wrong.
Reports say the Chief Minister has also sought time from Mr. Shah for the meeting. BJP Sources said the central leadership is keeping a close watch on the issue. They also questioned the authenticity of documents being shown by the media against Ms Raje.
Yesterday, the Chief Minister had clarified that she knows the family of Lalit Modi but expressed unawareness about the documents quoted by media against her. She had allegedly accompanied Modi’s ailing wife to Portugal in 2012 and 2013. Modi is a accused in the cases of economic offences. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had also helped the former IPL Commissioner getting British travel documents.
