Bhakra,Ranjit Sagar dam water level rises

Bhakra-Dam-The water level in the Bhakra Dam today recorded at a level of 1655.14 feet against 1651.43 feet last year on the same day. Water level is 3.71 feet more than as it was last year on the same day.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the irrigation department said that the water level of pong Dam has been recorded at 1337.52 feet which is 31.60 feet less than it was recorded last year that is 1369.12 feet. Similarly the water level of Ranjit Sagar Dam on August 05, 2013 touched 519.94 meter mark which is 5.16 meter more than the water level recorded last year on the same day.

He further said that the inflow of water in Bhakra is 48733 cusec against 44727 last year and the release from Bhakra Dam is 25500 cusec against 35791 cusec last year. Inflow of water in pong Dam has been recorded as 25815 cusec against 38102 cusec on the same day last year and inflow of water in Ranjit Sagar Dam is 14198 cusec against 15101 cusec and release from Ranjit Sagar Dam is 16908 cusec against 6825 cusec release on the same day last year.

He further said that the water level of Madhopur Head Works has been recorded at 15859 cusec against 6502 cusec on the same day last year.
