14 killed in Bangladesh road accident

In Bangladesh, at least 14 people were killed and 50 others injured in a head-on collision between 2 buses today morning on the dhaka-Siranganj highway, about 150 kms north of the capital.

The injured have been admitted to the Siranjganj Sadar Hospital. Sirajgang Deputy Commissioner of Police, Billai Hossain said some of the injured are critical and the death toll may rise. Meanwhile the district administration has set up a 4-member committee headed by an Additional District Magistrate to probe the accident and submit its findings within 3 days.

Bangladesh experiences heavy traffic on all highways during the Eid time as millions of people from the capital move out to native villages and towns to spend the festival with families.
