141 Punjab employees found holidaying
In compliance of and in continuation of the drive of Chief Minister Punjab Parkash Singh Badal, to ensure punctuality and regularity of Officers and Officials in all Government offices, a high level team led by Gurpreet Sapra, Special Secretary (Personnel) inspected the office of Director, health and Family, Punjab in Sector-34, Chandigarh on Monday .
According to an official spokesman the team inspected office rooms of some senior level officers such as Director, Deputy Directors and Administrative branches of the said Directorate and found 141 officers/officials absent. The officers namely Dr. Karamjit Singh, DHS&FW, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, DHS&FW, Dr. Diljeet Singh Cheema, Joint Director, Saroj Bala, Deputy Director, Sh. Piara Ram Joint Controller, F&A, Dr. Shashi Kant, Dr. Vinod Berry, Dr. Apramper Kaur Sidhu, Dr. Bhag Mal, MD and 20 others doctors were not present at the time of checking.
The surprise check lasted till 9.40 AM. The team of senior functionaries of the Personnel Department collected all attendance registers of the offices and has already submitted its report to the Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab.
The Chief Secretary Punjab has ordered that Vini Mahajan Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare should seek explanation of the absentee officers and officials and take necessary action within seven days. In case satisfactory explanations are not received within seven days, the absentee officers/officials shall be charge-sheeted by the competent authorities.
