31 killed in Baghdad car bomb explosions
A string of car bomb attacks in and around the capital Baghdad have left 31 persons dead while more than 100 others have been wounded. Six car bombs hit five different areas of the Iraqi capital.
The deadliest attack was in Sinaa Street in Baghdad’s central Karrada district in which 10 persons were killed. Two car bombs also hit the Amil area of south Baghdad and one each exploded in Ameen in the east, Zafraniyah in the centre and Sadr City in the north.
Baghdad has been hit by near-daily bombings and shootings by the Islamic state group militants and their sympathizers, which target security personnel, and shia dominated areas.
