50 injured in Gwalior stampede

About 50 people were reportedly injured in a stampede during a recruitment rally of army in Gwalior this morning. Talking to AIR Correspondent, Gwalior Collector P Narhari said that about one dozen people got injured and injuries are not of serious nature.

He said that the situation is under control and recruitment rally has been cancelled.

Narhari said that stampede took place due to a rumor that an electricity wire was broken at the place of rally.

Narhari said that the presence of people was also more than expected. Student who were participating in the rally, damaged several vehicles and pelted stones in protest of the incident.
