After Saharanpur riots erupt in Rampur, Meerut

rioting_in_rampur_upAfter Saharanpur , the riots now erupted in a Rampur village and Meerut areas of Uttar Pradesh.Reports said that the three people were killed and five others were injured in Mehandipur village of Rampur district in UP on Monday.

Sources said that the tiff between the people of two communities started  after two bikes riders hit each other which later turned into a violent clash. The rioters set the vehicles on fire . A gun battle took place between the two communities.

In another incident people of two communities had a tiff over the burial ground in Mohiuddinpur in Meerut.The people of a particular community were trying to dig a grave in a government land which was stopped by the police.

Meanwhile curfew continues in riot hit Saharanpur . The rioters on Sunday night looted around one dozen shops in Khalasi Line area and later set set the business establishments on fire. UP police arrested more rioters during the operation on Monday.

Curfew was lifted for four hours in the riot hit Saharanpur. People including Muslims came out of their homes and purchased essential items. People of two communities again pelted stones on each other . The rioters were fanned away by the police.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh however, claimed that the situation in Saharanpur is under control .

“The situation is under control in Saharanpur now and the situation is being watched closely.We have already sent a force of 600 jawans to maintain law and order,” Union Home Minister , Rajnath Singh said.
