Haryana police chief S N Vashisth, who on Tuesday had denied any deaths in Satlok Ashram aftr the police crackdown ,on Wednesday said that half dozen people , most of them women and an infant died after the police action.
Addressing media persons in chandigarh on Wednesday , Haryana Director General of Police, S N Vashisth,said that six people have died during last 24 hours.
“While the Ashram handed over four bodies of female followers on Wednesday morning, another woman died in the hospital,” S N Vashisth said.
The female followers have been identified as Savita ,31, a resident of Roganpur, Lakhpat Colony,Mitapur, New Delhi, Santosh,45, a resident of Bhagwatipur, District Rohtak, Malkiat Kuar ,50,a resident of Shekhpura Dhuri, Sangrur,
Punjab and Rajbala ,70, a resident of Bijnaur, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police , Rajni,20,who is a resident of Jakhora,district Lalitpur of UP, came out of the Ashram in serious condition at 4 am on Wednesday.
“She was reportedly suffering from heart-valve problem and was under treatment in UP. She was immediately taken to the Agroha Medical College where she expired at 8 am,” S N Vashisth said.
The DGP said that a one-and-a-half-year-old infant whose parents hail from Mava village, District Rewa of Madya Pradesh, expired in Satlok Ashram in the morning. He was reportedly suffering from jaundice since birth.His body has been taken to the Agroha Medical College, he added.
Satlok Ashram has claimed that eight followers died after the police action against Rampal.
