delhi-coldest-dayDelhi today witnessed the coldest day of the season with the mercury plummeting to 15 degree Celsius, seven degrees below normal. The minimum temperature also dipped two degrees below normal to 6.4 degrees.

Heavy fog continues to disrupt rail and air traffic in the national capital. Over 39 trains departing from Delhi had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather today. Five trains including Rohtak Intercity, Taj and Purva Express, had to be cancelled.

Low visibility affected flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport and seven flights were delayed.

The current spell of fog is likely to continue for the next 3 to 4 days. The Met department has forecast that in the coming days, the visibility will be reduced to 100 metres in several parts of the region.
