Espionage:CBI makes arrests 3 more arrests

The CBI has arrested a Mumbai based Chartered Accountant and two government officials for allegedly leaking and selling confidential documents from Finance, Commerce and Industry Ministries regarding foreign investments.

The agency yesterday carried out raids at six locations in Delhi and two in Mumbai and recovered 60 lakh rupees in cash from the residence and office of the CA-cum-Consultant Khemchand Gandhi. The two government officials include Lala Ram Sharma, a Section Officer in the Department of Economic Affairs and Ashok Kumar Singh, an Under Secretary in the Department of Disinvestment.

The CBI sources said, eight corporate houses are under the scanner. However, the agency is yet to approach these companies to cross check the facts.
