Failed to get money,Cop kidnaps smuggler’s son

Jhalawar,Rajasthan police has arrested a Punjab police Assistant Sub Inspector and his four accomplices in connection with kidnapping .

The accused police cop Surinder Kumar had gone to collect  the payment  of opium supply made by him to a local smuggler on Sunday. When the smuggler failed to pay him three lac rupees he kidnapped his son.

The matter was reported to the Jhalawar police which arrested the inspector on charges of abduction.

The accused police inspector is posted at Harike Pattan police station under Taran Taran district and hails from Patti area.The home guard jawan Sukha Singh was also missing from three days.

The accused police sub inspector is already facing drug smuggling charges.He is also accused of stealing the seized poppy husk from the police station.

“We have received complaints about Surender Kumar.The matter is being investigated,” SSP,Taran Taran, Manmohan Kumar Sharma said.

In another case,activities of three senior Punjab police officers including Gurveer Singh Brar and Jaskaran Singh ( both inspectors, third unidentified ) have come under scanner after a picture showing the trio smoking Hookah in front of a liquor bottle and drugs was released to the media by the Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira.
