Five arrested with 6.5 Kg opium in Sirsa

The seized contraband values around Rs 20 lacs in the international market

Continuing with the crackdown on drug-mafia, Haryana Police has arrested five persons and seized 6.5 kg opium from their possession in Sirsa district.

The estimated value of seized contraband in the international market is around Rs 20 lakh. The police has also recoved currency amounting to Rs1.68 lakh and two cars  from the possession of the arrested smugglers.

A spokesperson of Haryana Police said that  a team of Crime Investigation Agency, during routine patrolling in Odhan police station on a tip-off  came to know that some people were out to deliver a consignment of narcotics fetched from Rajasthan .

Acting swiftly, police party immediately conducted a raid and nabbed all four suppliers with buyer and recovered 6 kg 500 gram opium and Rs 1.68 lakh.
