Haryana heading for jungle raj:Kiran Choudhry
Kiran Choudhry, Leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party (CLP), has slammed the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP Government for the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the state, especially the crimes against women, and demanded that immediate steps should be taken to curb crime and stop the state fast sliding towards the jungle raj.
Choudhry said that school-going girls were being kidnapped and gang-raped which had made many pull out of schools; killings in broad daylight are rampant; cases of robbery, extortion and ransom are going up by the day; and people, especially the women, are feeling unsafe and insecure. This stares at the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign of the state government in the face, she added.
Quoting from the crime data Choudhry said that as many as 313 rape cases out of the total 467 cases of crimes against women were registered in the state from January to April, 2016. In all, 2,715 cases of various crimes against women were registered across the state between October 26, 2014 and February, 2015, which comes to about 67 cases per day during first four months tenure of BJP led Haryana Government.
“The Manohar Lal Khattar Government in Haryana has failed to take effective measures to tackle increasing crimes against women in the state. Instead of indulging in false propaganda through publicity blitz, the government should take quick and concrete measures to stop the state from heading for the jungle raj”, she added.
