Haryana to experience variable and dry weather
The Integrated Agromet Advisory Service Unit of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar has predicted possibility of variable and dry weather and light to moderate rain from July 17 to 19. The maximum temperature is likely to be between 36 and 41 degree Celsius and minimum between 26 and 31 degree Celsius. The average wind speed would range from seven to thirteen kilometer per hour.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the University said that in view of these weather conditions, the farm scientists of the university have advised the farmers to do the hoeing in cotton crops for conserving the moisture. Keeping in view, of weak monsoon, the farmers are advised to cultivate less area for paddy, where sufficient irrigation facilities are available.
Farmers are also advised for earthing up of sugarcane and to adopt fertilizer and weed control measures. He said that farmers are advised for sowing of guar, bajra and pulses with certified seeds after sufficient rain.
The farmers have been advised to apply irrigation in vegetable and fruit crops. The farmers have also been advised to provide drinking water at regular intervals to animals and give 50 grams of Iodized salt and 50-100 grams mineral mixture daily to keep them healthy.
