Haryana to waive off farmer loan interest

bhupinder_singh_hooda_haryaHaryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday announced a major relief to the farmers by launching a loan interest waiver scheme .

The chief minister said that the state government has decided to waive off loans amounting to Rs 154 crore which will benefit 1.25 lac farmers.

The beneficiaries include members belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes from Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation and Welfare of Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Corporation upto March 31,2013.

Hooda also said that the state government will also waive off loan interest of the farmers who had raised loans through District Central Cooperative Banks,Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies and had paid their dues on the due date.

The chief minister said that the state government will bear interest amount . He also said that the state government will provide interest subvention of 50 per cent in case the farmers have raised long term loans.

This scheme will be operative with immediate effect.
