India International Trade Fair begins today

india-international-trade-fairThe 34th India International Trade Fair, IITF kicked off at Pragati Maidan in the national capital today.

The annual event, which will continue up till 27th of this month, will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee. Thailand is the focus country while South Africa will be the partner country in the fair.

This year, Delhi is participating as a focus state. Fortnight long event will also focus on social issues including cleanliness drive launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This year the theme of the fair is Women Entrepreneurs.

Executive Director of India Trade Promotion Organisation , Malay Shrivastav said that over 6,500 exhibitors from 25 countries including China, Germany, Japan are participating in this event.

Shrivastav said that proper arrangements like special lounge for foreign business visitors, adequate parking and security are put in place as it is the largest trade fair of the country.

The first five days of the fair will be reserved for business visitors and from 19th of this month it will be thrown open for general public.
