J&K: BJP leaders call on Governor
Early government formation in Jammu and Kashmir still remains a distant dream as no breakthrough has been achieved despite a series of informal meetings being held between political parties in the state.
Meanwhile, ahead of the meeting of Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti with J&K Governor N.N. Vohra in Jammu tomorrow, BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and Sate BJP Chief Jugal Kishore Sharma today called on the Governor in Jammu Raj Bhawan.
Later addressing a press conference in Jammu, Jugal Kishore said that the State unit of the party is waiting for the party high command to take a final call on the issue of government formation and to decide whether BJP would go for government formation on its own or would participate in or support any other formation in the coming days.
He further stated that grand alliance of PDP-NC-Congress is a betrayal of people of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that only BJP can provide a stable government. He further stated that he will be meeting the Governor on January 1, 2015 again and today’s meeting with the Governor can be seen as a part of the ongoing process of government formation in the state.
Sharma said, the BJP is holding discussion with all the stakeholders and has kept all the options open for formation of the next government. Meanwhile, all eyes are now on the scheduled meeting of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti with Governor N.N. Vohra in Jammu tomorrow though her party has admitted that no headway has so far been achieved in the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir because of a fractured mandate by the people.
