Khattar appeals Rampal to surrender
Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday appealed to Sant Ram Pal against whom non-bailable warrants have been issued, to present himself in the court in a peaceful manner and without any hindrance.
AIR correspondent reports that Haryana Chief Minister was replying to the question of media persons in Chandigarh, regarding the ongoing tension in Barwala of Hisar district regarding the arrest of Sant Ram Pal of Satlok Ashram.
The Chief Minister also appealed Sant Rampal’s followers to cooperate in following the directions of the court.
He said that in a democratic set up, one must give utmost priority to uphold the dignity of judicial system.
Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed Sant Rampal to appear in the court on or before November 17 in a contempt case.
The Haryana Government will have to present him before the court on Monday if he fails to surrender.
About 2000 Haryana police commandos and 30 companies of para military forces have been deployed near the Ashram premises and all roads are sealed.
Hundreds of followers of Sant Rampal have surrounded the ashram to prevent the police from arresting him.
