Haryana Chief Minister  Manohar Lal today ordered the suspension of the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam for not paying attention to the problem of a  farmer. The officer faced CM’s ire for now giving a satisfactory reply to him.

Manohar Lal was presiding over the monthly meeting of Gurugram District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Gurugram  . A total of 11 complaints were taken up in today’s meeting, most of which were disposed off on the spot by the Chief Minister.

The aggrieved farmer belongs to village Babra Bakhipur of Farukhnagar tehsil of the district.

The farmer  said that the officials dug up his orchard for laying big lines of 220 KV and even uprooted his  plants.  He was not given any prior notice for the same. He said that for laying these lines, he was also ready to demolish his house located in the orchard but the officials of the Corporation did not listen to him.

The Superintending Engineer of HVPNL however informed the Chief Minister that the complainant farmer was given a compensation of Rs 3.89 lakh. However, the farmer said that the loss caused to  him was four times than the compensation awarded  the complainant said that this amount to compensate only one fourth of his loss.

The Chief Minister said that when the officials received the complaint, they should have looked into it and should have resolved the complaint on priority.

The matter of removal of three high tension lines of electricity passing over the houses of Ward-18 of Municipal Corporation Gurugram was taken up again in the meeting.
