Labourer turns crorepati, wins Rs 1.5 Cr lottery
Manoj Kumar of Mandvi village could not have asked for more. Yes, this labourer from Sangrur district became a crorepati overnight winning the first prize of Rs 1.5 crore in the state owned lottery Punjab State Rakhi Bumper-2018.
The draw of the bumper was announced on August 29, 2018 at Ludhiana. The first two prizes have gone to ticket no: A-207485 and B-660446.
Manoj Kumar could not believe his eyes as he matched his ticket number with the winning ticket number B-660446. He met the Director Lotteries TPS Phoolka here today and submitted his claim for the prize money. The Director assured him that the payment would be made at the earliest.
Feeling extremely happy Manoj Kumar said he could not have imagined winning such a big amount in the wildest of dreams, but this has been made possible by the Punjab State Rakhi Bumper.
The daily wager from Sangrur said he had borrowed money to purchase the ticket.
Expressing faith in the fair and transparent manner in which the state government had conducted the draw, Manoj Kumar said with the big prize money he would be able to tide over the financial problems his family was facing.
