BJP President Amit Shah has alleged that the West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee is trying to shield the guilty involved in the Sardha Chit Fund Scam. Addressing a public rally in Kolkata this afternoon, Shah justified the CBI action against the two jailed Trinamool Congress MPs, Kunal Ghosh and Srinjoy Basu, in the scam.
He said, if the Trinamool Congress Chief has the courage, she should say that both of them are innocent, instead of maligning the CBI. The BJP President asked the West Bengal Chief Minister not to do the vote bank politics over illegal infiltration from Bangladesh and on the security of the state. He also alleged that West Bengal is lacking behind other states in the rule of Trinamool Congress.
Criticizing the Trinamool Congress led government, the party’s State President, Rahul Sinha called for another change in next assembly elections in 2016, as the present government has failed to fulfill the people’s aspirations.
Addressing the rally, Union Minister Babul Supriyo, party MPs, S.S. Ahluwalia and Chandan Mitra advocated the change of guard in the state to take part in the development process initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reacting to BJP President’s statement, ruling Trinamool Congress Secretary General and West Bengal Education Minister, Partho Chatterjee said that the BJP is trying to disintegrate regional political parties by using power and police to maintain its political supremacy. He said the whole world knows about the honesty ofMamata Banerjee and the BJP will not succeed in tarnishing her image.
