Modi condemns Wagah border terror attackPrime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Myanmar on Tuesday to participate in 12th India-ASEAN summit and 9th East Asia summit.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Secretary East in the External Affairs Ministry Anil Wadhwa said, this will be the first multilateral engagement of Mr Modi with ASEAN and East Asian nations.

Prime Minister will review strategic partnership with ASEAN leaders.

The emphasis will be on Act East Policy to highlight deep roots of cultural and civilizational linkages, common strategic economic and political perspective.

Besides, multilateral meetings, Mr Modi will hold bilateral meetings with ASEAN and East Asian leaders including President of Myanmar.

Prime Minister will also meet Nobel Laureate and opposition leader of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi on the sidelines of the summits.

Ttrade with ASEAN nations have gone up by 20 times to about 77 billion dollars and the target to be achieved by 2015 is 100 billion dollars.
