Warmly shaking hands with Modi, the US President described him as a Man of Action. This was the second meeting between the two leaders in less than three months. The US President had hosted Mr Modi in White House last September and held discussions on issues concerning both the countries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today address the East Asia Summit. EAS is a forum held annually by leaders of 18 countries, including the United States and Russia. EAS meetings are held after annual ASEAN leaders meetings. Besides Mr Modi and Mr Obama, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abott will attend the summit.
The Prime Minister’s today’s schedule is again going to be very busy as he will be having bilateral meetings with Russian and Chinese Premier. All eyes will be focused on these two meetings particularly his meeting with Chinese premier in view of Modi’s thrust on improving relations with India’s neighbours.
