One held for selling army’s bullet-proof-jackets

junk-dealer-in-police-netPathankot police has arrested a local junk dealer on charges of selling army’s bullet-proof-jackets besides other prohibited goods.

The accused Gaurav Mahajan who runs his junk shop from Railway Road of this Punjab town.He procured army dresses and bullet-proof-jackets from his counterpart in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir and used to charge Rs 10,000 for the jacket which is not available for civilians.

“The police  has arrested Gaurav Mahajan under arms act.Army cap, a bullet proof jacket and INSAS rifle magazine has been recovered from his possession,” Deputy Superintendent of Police,City,Manoj Kumar said.

Police teams have been sent to nab the Udhampur junk dealer .

Use of army dresses and goods is banned in Jammu and Kashmir as the terrorists misuse the dresses to give the security agencies a slip.

The police fear that the banned army dresses and bullet-proof-jackets might have been purchased for anti-national activities.
