Online booking for Bangla Sahib Sarai begins
Free pick up and drop facility for devotees at airport soon : Sirsa
Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has started online booking facility for Bangala Sahib Sarai .The online booking portal https://www.dsgmcsarai.com has been launched recently.
Initially booking will be done for 25 rooms ,DSGMC plans to add more rooms in next phase. DSGMC Chief Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that fifty percent of the Sarai rooms being constructed at Gurudwara Motibag will be reserved for non resident Indians (NRIs).
Sirsa also said that DSGMC is also working on a plan to provide free pick-up and drop facility to the devotees from air port enabling them to easily pay obeisance at the Sikh shrines located in New Delhi.
Gurudwara Bangla Sahab is a popular Sikh shrine located near Connaught Palace in New Delhi of Baba Kharak Singh Marg. It is known for its golden domes and is associated with eighth Sikh guru Shri Har Krishan .It was built by Sardar Bhagel Singh Dhaliwal in 1783 during the reign of Mughal Emperor, Shah Alam II.
Guru Harkrishan once lived here during 1664.While helping the victims of small pox and cholera epidemic ,Guru Har Krishan was also infected and died on March 30,1664.
Besides Gurudwara, this shrine is also known for a sarovar (holy pond) which is visited by the devotees every day.
