Pakistan apprehends 56 Indian fishermen
Pakistan Maritime Security Agency has apprehended 56 Indian fishermen and also detained their ten boats near Jakhau port off the Gujarat coast. This was confirmed by Manish Lodhari, secretary of the National Fish workers’ Forum.
Lodhari said that eight boats were from Porbandar, while two others are from Okha and Mangrol port of Saurashtra which have been apprehended by Pakistan from Indian territorial waters.
This was the third major incident of apprehending Indian fishermen by Pakistan since last September. Earlier, Pakistan had apprehended 55 fishermen along with their eight boats near Jakhau port, off the Gujarat coast on 2nd October.
Pakistan Maritime Security Agency had also apprehended 27 India fishermen along with their five boats off the Gujarat coast during the last week of September.
