Rajnath Singh asks Haryana,Karnataka to ensure safety of NE citizens
The Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh on Friday spoke to the Governor of Haryana and Chief Minister, Karnataka yesterday, and requested them to ensure the that law and order is maintained under all circumstances.
The union home minister also urged them to take necessary action against the miscreants and to ensure the safety of all citizens including those hailing from the North East India.
Rajnath Singh has said that the Government is committed to provide security to all the citizens living in the country. In the last couple of days, some unpleasant incidents of attacks by the miscreants on the citizens from the North East India have been reported in Bengaluru and Gurgaon and it is a matter of concern, he added.
In Bengaluru, three persons found to be involved in the incident have been arrested. Similarly, in Gurgaon three persons have been arrested by the Haryana Police.
Both the State Governments have issued directions to the Police to deal with such miscreants strictly. Bangalore Police and Haryana Police have taken a number of security measures for ensuring the security of the people including those hailing from the North East.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has also sent advisories to the State Governments and Union Territories in this regard.
