Six Haryana officers nabbed taking bribe

Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught six officers and officials red handed while accepting bribe ranging from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 10,000 and has registered criminal cases against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act during last month.
The Bureau has also recommended departmental action against 15 gazetted officers, 17 non-gazetted officers and three other persons as they were found guilty in enquires conducted by it recently.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that those arrested while taking bribe included Sunil Kumar Mittal, who took bribe of Rs 10,000 on behalf of Vinod Gupta, Manager, Urban Co-operative Bank, Samalkha, Panipat.
Ashok Kumar, Registry Clerk, Tehsil Samalkha, Panipat was caught taking bribe of Rs. 7,000 whereas Ashok Kumar, Junior Engineer and Ram Avtar, lineman, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Narnaul were caught taking bribe of Rs 5,000.
Mukesh Kumar, Clerk, in office of Chief Medical Officer, Hisar was caught taking bribe of Rs 4,000. Satbir Singh, Deputy Superintendent in office of District Elementary Education Officer, Bhiwani and Sombir Singh, Lineman, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Gohana, Sonipat were caught while taking a bribe of Rs 3,000 each.
