Himachal Pradesh government is monitoring the situation arising due to snowfall in higher reaches and intermittent rains in lower belts.

Nearly 140 villages in district Chamba were facing power disruption. In tribal areas the people have been asked not to venture out due to fear of avalanches and landslides. Meanwhile near Rampur in Shimla district at least six persons were feared drowned as their vehicle in which they were travelling fell down in Sutlej river last night.

As many as 160 link roads in the state were affected due to landslides after snowfall and rain. The vehicular traffic for Kinnaur District had been restored up to Bhabanagar on National highway while the work was going on war-footing on other roads to make them through for vehicular traffic.

Revenue Minister Kaul Singh Thakur said directions have been issued to all the Deputy Commissioners to personally monitor the situation and get the repair and renovation works done on priority.
