Two more arrested in Corporate espionage case

petroleum-ministry-espionageDelhi Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the corporate espionage case. Police official said, Jitender Nagpal, a Personal Assistant to a Joint Secretary in Forest and Environment Ministry and the other accused Vipan Kumar also a Personal Assistant to a UPSC member were arrested.

With this, so far a total of 16 people including two from the Petroleum Ministry and senior executives from the top energy firms, have been arrested in the case of leaking documents.

Vipan was earlier posted at Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and he was getting secret documents with the help of his contacts.The two accused Nagpal and Vipan used to provide stolen documents to energy consultant Lokesh Sharma who had been apprehended by the police in the espionage case. Delhi Police’ crime branch has registered two FIRs in the espionage case.
