Virbhadra Case: Court rejects Bhushan’s plea
Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday got a major relief as the
Delhi High court rejected the plea of Prashant Bhushan to register the case against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Further the court has also refused to make any observations in respect to the matter.
Senior counsel Kapil Sibal appearing for Virbhadra Singh has informed the court that the PIL filed by Prashant Bhushan appears to be a Personal Interest Litigation.
He has also pointed out that Prashant Bhushan is misusing the PIL in order to settle the land dispute. The Government of Himachal Pradesh had already initiated enquiry in the land dealings wherein irregularities were committed in order to benefit the bhushan society.
After hearing the arguments court has listed the matter on 01st September. Meanwhile the Income Tax department has filed its report in sealed cover, which was submitted in the court.
