Windstorm kills six in Uttar Pradesh
High Velocity windstom hit several places of Uttar Pradesh on Friday killing six persons and injuring several others .
Four persons were killed and three injured in Gauriganj thana area of Amethi.
the casualties occurred due to tree uprooting, wall collapsing and falling of towers.
He announced the financial aid of four lakh each to the kin of the deceased. Whereas five persons were hit by lightning and tree branch falling on them in Deoria district killing two of them.
The windstorm which lasted for fifteen minutes only, was so severe that it uprooted hundreds of old trees and snapped the power lines which obstructed traffic for hours at several places.
The mango belt of Malihabad was also badly hit causing damage to mango crop which now is ready to be plucked.
Besides, several mobile towers fell upon ground injuring some people and damaging house properties at Sultanpur, Amethi and other districts.
It was also followed by rainshowers at some places including Ballia and Lucknow which gave some reprieve from scorching heat
